A youth is facing murder charges for a late-night shooting in Riverdale that left two dead in April.
Gunfire erupted just after 11 p.m. on a quiet corner of Bain Avenue, just west of Logan Avenue on April 15. Once officers arrived, they found Quentin Caza, 18, and Jeremy McNeil, 20, with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims died at the scene. The other managed to open the car door and fell out. A few bystanders rushed to help him while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, witnesses told the Star. He didn鈥檛 survive the night.
A 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested on Saturday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, 海角社区官网.
The young person appeared in court, by video call, on Saturday at The 海角社区官网Regional Bail Centre.
Multiple witnesses who spoke to the Star described the two victims sitting in a parked car when two shooters rushed them from across the street and fired
Investigators described the incident as “no random attack.”
In the aftermath of the shooting, the car’s passenger side was seen riddled with bullets that police marked as evidence.聽
Investigators believe the two young men had been 鈥渓ured鈥 to the area by their killers, though the circumstances of what persuaded them is still unclear, 海角社区官网police 55 Division Acting Supt. Michael Hayles said shortly after the shooting.聽
