Torontonians can expect to face several road closures and transit route changes related to number of events this weekend, including the RBC Race for the Kids, a block party and ongoing construction.Ìý

RBC Race for the Kids road closures
The race, which aims to support youth mental health, will take place on Saturday between 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It will begin and end in Mel Lastman Square.
Motorists should expect delays between 5:30 and 11:30 a.m. due to road closures and lane restrictions along the five-kilometre race route, according to a police . These includes closures and restrictions at:
- Southbound Beecroft Road from Park Home Avenue to North York Boulevard;
- Eastbound North York Boulevard from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street;
- Southbound Yonge Street from North York Boulevard to Sheppard Avenue West;
- The turn around on Yonge Street at Sheppard Avenue West;
- Northbound Yonge Street from turnaround to Turnberry Court; and
- The finish line at southbound Yonge Street to North York Boulevard.Ìý
Additional weekend road closures
Also this weekend, Pape Village is sending off summer with its annual block party. Pape Avenue will be closed between Mortimer and Cosburn Avenues from 6 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Elsewhere, Vaughan Road will be closed between Louise and Maplewood Avenues from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday for the safe dismantling of a tower crane, and Park Road will be closedÌýbetween Rosedale Valley Road and Collier Street from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. that day for º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøHydro work.
Weekend transit closures and route changes
Road closures will also impact several city transit routes, according to the TTC service changes .
For city buses, the Vaughan RoadÌýclosure for dismantling a tower craneÌýon Saturday will cause a temporary route change for the 90 Vaughan buses between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Buses will not stop on Vaughan Road between St. Clair Avenue West and Jesmond Avenue.
Another construction-related road restrictionÌýSaturday will mean the southbound 97C/320 Yonge buses won’t stop on Yonge Street between Richmond Street West and King Street West. Northbound buses won’t stop on Yonge Street between Adelaide Street West and King Street West. The route change will be in effect from midnight to 5 p.m.
The route for the 72 Pape buses will also change on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the Pape Village Block Party, meaning buses will not stop on Pape Avenue between Mortimer Avenue and O’Connor Drive.
Transit work will also affect some routes this weekend.
There will be no subway service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Keele stations due to signal upgrades, with shuttle buses operating between those stops.
Streetcar infrastructure work will impact some routes from 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, with the following changes:
- 509 Harbourfront streetcarsÌýwill only operate between Exhibition Loop and Queens Quay West at Lower Spadina Avenue.
- 510/310 Spadina streetcarsÌýwill onlyÌýoperate between Spadina Station and Queens Quay West at Lower Spadina Avenue.Ìý
- Replacement buses for the 510/310 will run between Queens Quay Loop and Union Station. At Union Station, passengers will board the buses on the west side of Bay Street, south of Front Street West.
- Passengers can transfer between northbound and westbound streetcars and replacement buses by boarding inside at Queens Quay Loop, east of Spadina Avenue.
- Passengers can transfer between eastbound streetcars and replacement buses by boarding on the south side of Queens Quay West, east of Spadina Avenue.
