Two people have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in relation to the shooting of a Markham woman on the driveway of her home in January.Â
York police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 21. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Â
In surveillance footage released by police in the days following the shooting, the victim can be seen speaking along the curbside with a person wearing a high-visibility vest, construction helmet, dark-coloured hooded sweater, black pants and a medical mask. When the victim turns and walks up her driveway towards her home, the person pulls out a gun and shoots her.Â

York police confirmed to the Star that they still believe the shooting was targeted, but they could not speak to any relationship between the victim and suspects, or to a potential motive now that arrests have been made and the case is before the courts.Â
