Canada bans Irish band Kneecap over its alleged support for Hamas and Hezbollah

OTTAWA—The Canadian government is banning Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap from entering the country, just weeks before the band was set to perform sold-out shows in º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøand Vancouver, accusing the pro-Palestinian group of promoting political violence and supporting Hamas and Hezbollah.

It’s a rare show of force that immediately raised accusations that political speech was being silenced, andÌýcomes the same day Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberals are expected to table a new hate-crimes bill that bans the display of symbols of government-designated terror groups for the purpose of spreading hate.
