A wild start to the NFL regular season provided Proline players with plenty of happy returns last week.
According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., a whopping 91 per cent of bettors backed the Denver Broncos’ 20-12 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. However, just 21 per cent had Tennessee on the spread at +9.5 while 35 per cent had the under at 42.5.
Meanwhile, 88 per cent of Proline players had Cincinnati nipping the Cleveland Browns 17-16 while 86 per cent had the Washington Commanders downing the New York Giants 21-6. Eighty-four per cent of bettors backed the Arizona Cardinals’ 20-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints while 84 per cent successfully predicted the Jacksonville Jaguars downing the Carolina Panthers 26-10.
And 30 per cent of players backed the Green Bay Packers in their 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions.
On Sunday night, the Buffalo Bills scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to nip the Baltimore Ravens 41-40. Sixty-four per cent of players backed the Bills while 49 per cent had the spread with Buffalo at +1.5.
Just four per cent had Buffalo’s Dalton Kincaid to score a touchdown while six per cent had him as an anytime scorer. The Bills’ other anytime TD scorers were quarterback Josh Allen (38 per cent), running back James Cook (28 per cent) and receiver Keon Coleman (nine per cent).
Not surprisingly, 46 per cent had Baltimore’s Derrick Henry as an anytime touchdown scorer. Another 16 per cent had quarterback Lamar Jackson while five per cent had receiver Zay Flowers and three per cent had fellow receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
The superboost of both Jackson and Allen scoring a non-passing touchdown was a winner for players.
On Monday night, the Minnesota Vikings rallied for a 27-24 win over the Chicago Bears with 21 fourth-quarter points. J.J. McCarthy anchored the comeback with two touchdown passes and a rushing score in the final quarter of his first NFL start.
Forty-seven per cent of bettors backed the Viking win with 52 per cent having Minnesota cover the spread at +1.5.
In baseball, the º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøBlue Jays finished the week with a 3-3 record. They began by taking two-of-three from the Cincinnati Reds but only one of their three-game set with the New York Yankees.
Just 30 per cent of players correctly backed New York’s 3-1 victory Saturday. Fifty-nine per cent had the Yankees runline at -1.5 while 25 per cent had the under at 9.5.
New York earned a 4-3 win Sunday, an outcome 37 per cent of bettors backed. Another 42 per cent of players had Toronto’s runline at +1.5 while 23 per cent had the under at 8.5.
A Proline digital bettor won $798.19 from a $2.50 wager on a five-pick soccer parlay while a retail player earned a whopping $4,547.50 after putting $3 down on a seven-pick soccer parlay.
