York police believe a series of Vaughan home shootings this month are targeted and connected incidents, according to an update Wednesday afternoon.Ìý
There have been six shootings total, Const. Lisa Moskaluk told reporters. Four homes were struck, with two of them attacked twice each. Nobody has been injured.Ìý
The shootings are believed to be linked, with one of the homes shot at on Farrell Road connected to a person who is associated with the towing industry, Moskaluk said. She said she could not provide any more details on the connection, as the case is under investigation.Ìý

Police are looking for several people potentially involved in the shootings, Moskaluk said.
“With any kind of criminal group or criminal organization, there’s never just one that’s a hired hand to go commit these crimes,” she said, adding the vehicles police have identified at the shootings have all been different, though they were all previously reported as stolen.Ìý
The update comes after another shooting targeting a home in Vaughan overnight, where bullets struck the same residence for the second time this month.
Officers responded to multiple calls reporting the sound of gunshots at two locations near  just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.ÌýThey did not find evidence of a shooting at the location of the first report on Allison Ann Way, and continued towards a residence on Farrell Road, about two minutes away.Ìý
Officers found a residence was shot at near , though no one was injured. The home is the same residence that was shot at on Sept. 6, York police told the Star.Ìý
Investigators are in the area collecting evidence and canvassing for potential witnesses, so residents of the neighbourhood should expect a heavy police presence, police said.Ìý

The incident is the latest in a series of September home shootings, the most recent of which occurred in the early hours of Sept. 15 in the area of .Ìý
Another home, near , was shot at on Sept. 10, after which police arrested a man. On Wednesday, Moskaluk identified the man as a 23-year-old from Innisfil.
Before that, three Vaughan homes were shot at over the weekend of Sept. 6 and 7.
Residents of the neighbourhood don’t need to worry about random attacks, but should remain vigilant and contact police if they see any suspicious activity, Moskaluk said.Ìý
“They are not shooting into homes at random, these are very specifically targeted,” she said.Ìý
