Second man charged with first-degree murder in death of Markham woman last summer

Investigators have charged Changlin Yang and聽Xiao 鈥淔red鈥 Hui Li with first-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old Ying Zhang, whose remains were found in a garbage bin in July.聽

A second person has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Markham woman whose remains remains were discovered in a garbage bin in the city of Kawartha Lakes, Ont., last summer, York police said Friday.聽

A search and rescue team discovered the remains on July 29, 2024, while doing a ground search in the area of Palestine and Fenel Roads, police told the Star at the time.
