Balreet Singh Gill, 30, has been arrested after officers searched a residence in Brampton on Tuesday.聽

Gill has been charged with first-degree murder and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing,

The victim was initially in a vehicle when the shooting took place, Khatra said at the time adding that it was in a 鈥渇airly busy鈥� plaza.

Investigators could not confirm the number of times the man was shot, but confirmed multiple gunshots were reported.

Tony Johal, the owner of a restaurant in the plaza, said he has not heard of another shooting happening in the area in more than a decade of working there.
