Officers found a man in his 40s who had been shot. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are unsure how many suspects were involved, but said they fled the scene. Officers also have not found a weapon.

The Homicide and Missing Persons Unit has launched an investigation. 

Police had shut down Victoria Park Avenue between Farmcrest Drive and Consumers Road, and Farmcrest Drive between Meadowacres Drive and Victoria Park Avenue for the investigation. 

There was a large police presence in the plaza Sunday morning as officers canvassed the area for possible witnesses or video footage that may have caught something.
