Montreal Roses FC clinch NSL playoff berth with 2-0 win over Halifax Tides Fc
LAVAL - Stephanie Hill and Noemi Paquin each scored as Montreal Roses FC clinched a playoff berth with a 2-0 victory over Halifax Tides FC in Northern Super League action on Thursday.

LAVAL - Stephanie Hill and Noemi Paquin each scored as Montreal Roses FC clinched a playoff berth with a 2-0 victory over Halifax Tides FC in Northern Super League action on Thursday.
Montreal (10-6-5) became the third team to clinch one of four post-season spots, after league-leading AFC º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøand Ottawa Rapid FC.
The win also moved Montreal past Ottawa for second place in the league standings.

Hill put the Roses on the board in the 40th minute with a volley from a few yards outside of the box that skied over the reach of Halifax (3-13-4) goalkeeper Anika Toth.Â
In the 71st minute, Paquin took a sweet lead pass, cut past a defender and into the box and put a low shot past Toth to double Montreal’s lead.
Both teams will be back in action on Sept. 27. Montreal will host Calgary, while Halifax welcomes Vancouver.
