“No matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life,” Kelce said Wednesday at a press conference in New Orleans. “Having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world, so that’ll be pretty cool.”
Kelce is dating global pop superstar Taylor Swift, who in September endorsed Kamala Harris for president after Trump posted images generated by artificial intelligence implying Swift had endorsed Trump. In response, the then-presidential candidate posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Swift also supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election and said Trump stoked “the fires of white supremacy and racism.”
On Wednesday, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said it’s “always cool” to play in front of a sitting president.
“It’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play,” Mahomes said.
Trump will be the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, scheduled for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in New Orleans, according to The Associated Press. The Chiefs, facing the Philadelphia Eagles, are looking to become the first team to win three straight championships
Trump has yet to officially confirm his attendance, but his presence is expected to complicate already intense security preparations.
The game is taking place just six weeks after a 42-year-old man killed 14 people on New Orleans’ crowded Bourbon Street in the early hours of New Year’s Day. On Tuesday, before Trump’s attendance was reported, Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem said her department is “working around the clock to ensure a safe and secure game day.”
Trump will also appear on Fox News’ Super Bowl pre-game show in a pretaped interview with anchor Bret Baier, the network announced. It will focus on Trump’s first 100 days and the change his administration has already enacted, Fox said in a press release.
