Nepal Prime Minister resigns after violent protests, PTI Says

Several ministers in Oli’s government had earlier resigned as well.

Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned after two days of violent protests, according to the Press Trust of India, citing unidentified officials.

Oli resigned after hundreds of protesters entered his office on Tuesday, PTI added. At least 19 people were killed and hundreds injured on Monday, following protests by mainly young people over a government ban of social media platforms.
