º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøpolice said they launched the campaign after City Council recommended the force collaborate with the City to raise awareness about safety issues surrounding bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters.Â
Now that the period of increased enforcement has ended, police said they will continue to educate drivers and enforce local and provincial laws on all users of these types of vehicles.Â
“Whether operating a motor vehicle or a micromobility vehicle, the laws of the road apply to all,” the release reads.Â
The enforcement campaign also focused on the back-to-school season, with officers zeroing in on speeding and distracted driving within school zones.
During that time, police gave out 3,355 tickets for driving offences within 150 metres of a school, the release said.Â
