Two studentsÌýhave been taken to hospital after a stabbingÌýoutside a Scarborough high school on Monday afternoon, with the suspects fleeing the scene, police say.
Police responded to reports of the double stabbing near just before 1:50 p.m., investigators said in a .
Both victims are male and sustained minor injuries, officialsÌýsaid,Ìýadding the stabbings did not occur on school property.ÌýPolice later added the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police say the stabbings involved “multiple” suspects wearing all black at the time of the incident.
On Tuesday morning º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøpolice said more than one person had been arrested in connection to the stabbings but did not share any further information.
The two boys were stabbed after an “altercation” with the suspects, acting inspector Todd Jocko told reporters Monday evening.
Police do not yet know whether the suspects knew the victim, Jocko said.Ìý
Both victims were students at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate, according to an email from the school’s principal to students and parents. After they were stabbed, the victims returned to the school, where they reported the incident and their injuries, the email reads. Emergency services were contacted immediately.
The school is co-operating with police as they investigate, according to the email.Ìý
At the scene on Monday afternoon, police were collecting evidence, marking blood spots on the ground that led from a bus stop at the southwest corner of Livingston Road and Guildwood Parkway towards Sir Wilfrid LaurierÌýCollegiate Institute. Police tape was extended from the bus stop to a footpath towards the school off of Guildwood Parkway.
An officer at the scene confirmed the stabbing occurred at the bus stop.

In May 2019, an 18-year-old man died andÌýthree suspects were arrested after a stabbingÌýjust outside Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute.ÌýThe victim was a student at Laurier.
