Two people have been charged in the 2023 death of a toddler in Gravenhurst, Ont., the OPP announced Wednesday.Â
On Jan. 5, 2023, emergency services received a call for a child who had serious injuries. The two-year-old was sent to a º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøhospital where they succumbed to their injuries two days later on Jan. 7, the OPP said in a press release.Â
More than two years later, the OPP arrested 24-year-old Tyler Phillip Whale, of Brampton, on Tuesday and charged him with second-degree murder. Officers also arrested Justine Osborne, 33, of Gravenhurst, on Wednesday for failing to provide the necessaries of life.Â

The OPP said at the time that the investigation was “complex,” though there was no threat to public safety.Â
There is a publication ban in effect and police say they cannot release any other information on the case.Â
