An 88-year-old e-bike rider died Thursday after he was struck by two cars in Whitby earlier this month, Durham police said.
The man, riding an enclosed e-bike,Ìýwas going south on when he was first hit by the driver of a Jeep Wrangler around 10 a.m. on May 2. The impact knocked the man and the e-bike across the centre line of the intersection where heÌýwas then struck by the driver of a Hyundai Velostar, according to officers.Ìý
The riderÌýwas rushed to a Toronto-area hospital in critical condition. He succumbed to those injuries on Thursday, Ìý

The others drivers were uninjured in the collision, according to investigators.
Roads in the area were closed for several hours after the collision while officers collected evidence.
