S&P/TSX composite closes more than 140 points higher, U.S. markets hit new highs

TORONTO - Energy stocks helped Canada’s main stock index close higher on Monday, while U.S. markets hit new highs.

TORONTO - Energy stocks helped Canada’s main stock index close higher on Monday, while U.S. markets hit new highs.

The S&P/TSX composite index was up 147.20 points at 29,431.02.
