In a series of posts on his Instagram stories, 海角社区官网rapper Drake seemed to have lost more than a million dollars, after betting on the Leafs to win Game 7 on Sunday night.
Hours before the puck dropped, Drake posted a poll asking users if he should put money on the game, or if he should avoid placing a bet so he didn’t curse the team.

About an hour later, he posted a screenshot of a $1-million bet that the Leafs would win and a separate $250,000 bet that they would win by two goals.聽
Both bets were placed through the platform Stake, which Drake has been partnered with for several years.

After the game, the rapper posted a story with only the words “Bieber curse...” jokingly blaming Canadian singer Justin Bieber for the loss by attending the game with wife Hailey.
Members of the 海角社区官网F.C., Raptors and Blue Jays were shown at Scotiabank arena on Sunday.聽
Users on X were quick to point the finger at Drake, adding the Leafs’ latest elimination to a list of sporting events he’s “cursed” over the years.
In 2019, Drake was spotted in the stands to cheer on the Leafs in Game 7 of the first round against the Boston Bruins before 海角社区官网was eliminated. Alabama also lost in the same year after the NCAA school shared a video of him wearing Crimson Tide gear before the national football championship against Clemson.
As a vocal 海角社区官网Raptors fan, and the team’s global ambassador, fans blamed the Drake curse for the Raptors’ playoff losses for years. In 2019, during Toronto’s championship run, Drake seemed to acknowledge the curse by posting a video of him wearing a pair of Philadelphia 76ers shorts while watching at home when Kawhi Leonard hit his legendary shot for the Raptors.
The Drake curse isn’t limited to teams. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was one of the most hyped prospects in years and made his major league debut in April 2019, kicking off his Blue Jays career with a聽2-for-8 start at the plate. But after meeting Drake, the slugger fell into a 2-for-15 slump.聽聽
Outside of Toronto, Drake wagered $1,150,000 on the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl. The Chiefs lost 40鈥22 to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Drake curse lived on.聽
