Blue Jays quick hits: What Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was thinking before his early-season signature moment

“It was a big at-bat for me, for the team,” Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said after his three-run homer helped the Blue Jays win on Thursday.


Vladimir Guerrero Jr. gets paid a lot of money to come up with the big hits, and on Thursday night he delivered his biggest one of the year.

Guerrero stepped to the plate with the Blue Jays trailing by one in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and two men on, he obliterated a 3-and-2 curveball from Justin Slaten and lined it over the wall in left for a three-run home run.
