A northern Ontario couple from Iroquois Falls has won the $70-million Lotto Max jackpot on their first try.
Jennifer Stuart-Flynn and Kyle Murray held the聽winning ticket from the Aug. 20 Lotto Max draw.
鈥淚 realize my kids are going to have a much better life than I had and that makes me the most emotional. They are set and won鈥檛 have to wonder or worry about anything anymore,” said Stuart-Flynn.

The couple recently welcomed a newborn baby just days before becoming multimillionaires.
After returning home from Toronto, Murray was waiting at Timmins airport to pick up his mother, who was going to help care for the baby, when he received a text from Stuart-Flynn asking him to purchase a lottery ticket.
Murray is originally from the United States and had never bought a lottery ticket here before. When he got home, he put the ticket on the fridge as a reminder.
Sometime after, Stuart-Flynn heard the winning ticket was sold in the Timiskaming/Cochrane region and decided to check while at the kitchen table having cereal.
鈥淚 was in shock and not processing what was happening, so I shut down the OLG app and reopened it. I checked the ticket again and heard the same thing. That鈥檚 when I called out to Kyle,” she said.
“She yelled ‘I think we won!’鈥澛爏aid Murray.聽
He wasn’t sure if they had actually won the $70-million or if her phone was simply displaying the maximum prize. “I felt light-headed and that sensation ran through my whole body!鈥 Murray said.

The couple said they are carefully considering what to do with the $70 million because “it鈥檚 a lot of money and it comes with a lot of responsibility,” but already have a few things in mind.
Stuart-Flynn wants to buy her sister a home and make sure she is taken care of, describing her as “the most kind, loving, and generous person in the world.”
The couple also wants to buy some land and set up a little farm with chickens and a highland cow.
“We hope it will be a place where the kids can have fun and will want to return to as they get older,” Murray said.
