With summer just around the corner, more of the city’s recreational water features are reopening this weekend.聽
More than 140 splash and spray pads are expected to be functional again for the season on Saturday after most seasonal聽park washrooms and attached water fountains opened earlier in the month.
By May 24, all remaining water fountains, bottle filling stations and dog fountains in parks should be open unless extensive repairs are required, according to a .

At the end of the month, lifeguard supervision will return to ten beaches between the hours of聽10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. throughout the summer.
The city’s outdoor pools will begin opening gradually in mid-June, starting with select locations on evening and weekend schedules. The pools are scheduled to be fully operational by June 27.聽
鈥淲e want people to enjoy the many amazing city parks for as long as possible when the weather outdoors is lovely. This means getting all the seasonal park washrooms and other water facilities ready right on time,” Mayor Olivia Chow said in the release. “I鈥檓 pleased that with our budget commitment City crews have been able to get them ready on schedule again this year. We鈥檙e continuing to invest more resources so everyone can get the best of our beautiful city.鈥
Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik also spoke on the news that splash pads and outdoor pools would be reopening in the coming weeks.
“Torontonians love our parks and look forward to spending as much time there as soon as the warm weather arrives. I鈥檓 proud that City crews have worked hard to ensure all park users can access washrooms and water fountains for maximum enjoyment,” she said.
