A three vehicle collision on the QEW º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøbound lanes at Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake has killed one person and injured three other people travelling on a coach bus late Friday afternoon.

A º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøman riding in a bus has died and three other passengers were seriously injured in a collision that shut down the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW late on Friday afternoon.Â
, involving a coach bus that was hit by a vehicle’s wheel, occurred at 3:40 p.m. on the eastbound QEW at , at the base of the Garden City Skyway.
OPP said the collision was a result of a wheel coming off of a passenger van and striking a pickup truck before going through the windshield of the coach bus.
A 48-year-old man from Toronto, a passenger on the bus, was pronounced dead at the scene. Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics were also on scene and three other passengers were sent to area hospitals with serious injuries.Â
Images from the scene show a gaping hole in the bus driver’s windshield, possibly caused by the flying wheel.

All Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW at Glendale Avenue in Niagara were expected to be closed until around 11 p.m. Friday, the OPP said in an update on X.Â
The Burlington OPP and Niagara police are investigating the collision and say more updates will be provided as they become available.Â
