On the morning of April 19, investigators responded to multiple reports of break-ins at a plaza in Vaughan, officials said in a .
Three businesses in a row near had been broken into, their front doors smashed and cash registers targeted, police said, adding this suggested the robber “acted quickly and opportunistically.”

Police said they then identified a suspect, alleging he was linked to four other commercial break-ins in Richmond Hill and Markham in April. Â
York Regional Police previously released a video that appeared to show a man smashing the doors of the Vaughan businesses with a large wrench before walking out with at least two cash registers. The man then appears to put a cash register in the trunk of a white, four-door sedan.
A man, 39, is facing seven counts of breaking and entering and three counts of failure to comply with a release order. The suspect was on bail for unrelated charges at the time of the incidents, officers said.
