A Markham grocery store has apologized for a joke about introducing a new “Liberal Tears” ice cream flavour after the federal election.Â
Village Grocer had an ad in their weekly flyer posted Wednesday that read: “After the election results started to roll in on Monday night, the ‘Liberal Tears’ flavour of ice cream Eddie planned on introducing this week had to be scrapped and we had to roll with Plan B.”
The ad for their in-store creamery then described their new Guava Ice Cream flavour.

The independent family store, which was founded in 1986 in the Unionville area, apologized to those who were “hurt and offended” by the remarks.Â
