º£½ÇÉçÇø¹ÙÍøpolice have arrested two men and three women after a series of thefts targeting older people.
A 46-year-old man and a 52-year-old man of no fixed address are also wanted, police said in a news release. The arrests took place in November.
Between December 2023 and October 2024, the suspects targeted older adults at banks and retail stores, distracting them in order to obtain PINs and steal wallets and bank cards, police allege, to fraudulently buy prepaid credit cards.Â

Police issued a search warrant, and seized items including 50 smart watches, 56 bottles of designer perfume and 32 OLG Pro-Line tickets.
They also seized $23,000 and 21 prepaid credit cards, totalling $10,500. Police said four “fraudulently obtained” vehicles totalling $250,000 were shipped overseas.
Police have laid 96 charges, including robbery, fraud over $5,000, use of a credit card obtained by offence and possession of a forged or altered passport.
Those charged are:
A Montreal man, 39;
A Laval man, 44;
A woman of no fixed address, 40;
A Milton woman, 49;
A woman of no fixed address, 32.
All the accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice later this month.
Police said there may be more victims, and the group appears to be an “organized operation.”
