HALIFAX - Nova Scotia鈥檚 premier is defending his government鈥檚 record $1.2-billion deficit, saying he is focused on growing the economy and making major investments in health care.

Tim Houston says Nova Scotians shouldn’t be worried about the deficit 鈥 or the fact it’s risen by $697.5-million since February’s budget, a jump of more than 70 per cent.
