The accidental entrepreneur who brought car-sharing to Canada 鈥 long before smartphones

Beno卯t Robert’s dream of an alternative to car ownership was born in the early ‘90s. Now,聽Communauto has about 7,500 vehicles 鈥 including 1,200 in 海角社区官网鈥斺痑cross Canada and in France.

Beno卯t Robert dreamed of car-sharing long before there was a sharing economy, an app economy 鈥 or even smartphones.

In the early 鈥90s the Montreal-native envisioned a future where cars were available for short-term use at an affordable price, offering a practical, sustainable and cost-efficient alternative to ownership.
