‘A kick in the head’: Hudson’s Bay shoppers hunt for liquidation deals and reflect on what the chain’s downfall means to them

Shoppers take advantage of deep discounts at the Hudson’s Bay at the Victoria Crossing shopping centre on Monday as liquidation sales begin.


Just minutes it opened on Monday morning, shoppers poured into Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, hoping to snag some deals at聽Hudson鈥檚 Bay聽as the end of the 355-year-old Canadian retail institution looms.

Some made beelines for the broken escalators, while others had to stop to consult the store directory, but either way, consumers with appliances, bedding and clothing in hand had soon formed long lines in front of the cash registers.
