When Mark Scheifele took to the ice on Saturday night for the Winnipeg Jets in Dallas, playing through the grief of his father’s death, he had the hockey world’s attention, admiration and sympathy.

鈥淢y heart goes out to him and his family,鈥 Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube said before Sunday鈥檚 Game 7 against the Florida Panthers. 鈥淭he courage you show to play that game, and he played well. It’s a terrible situation, you feel for him. But I understand why he played, I really do. That’s a tough day for everybody.鈥
