Famed sports broadcaster Bob McCown announced the news in a brief Facebook post 鈥 while leaving the door open slightly.
鈥淚 regret to inform you that 鈥楾he Bob McCown Podcast鈥 will not continue in the foreseeable future. After more than 1,000 episodes I have decided not to keep going,鈥 McCown wrote, while also thanking past guests and co-hosts over the years.
鈥淚 have another project which will garner my attention. I will tell you more soon. I enjoyed doing it. Talk to you soon!鈥

The 72-year-old McCown had hosted the popular podcast聽 regularly since 2020, after he left Sportsnet and 鈥淧rime Time Sports,鈥 which aired聽from 1989 to 2019.
He suffered a pair of strokes聽last summer, with co-hosts John Shannon and Dave Hodge keeping the show going during his recovery.
In a lengthy chat with Bruce Arthur, McCown detailed how drastically life has changed, and how he鈥檚 only partway back. 鈥淚 really miss being normal.鈥
About three months ago,聽, though not retiring from broadcasting entirely.聽
鈥淲hen we started the podcast, neither of us knew what we were doing,鈥 he told McCown in his final appearance. 鈥淚 have laughed, I have cried, I have argued, as you have, and it鈥檚 been a real thrill to be around you for as long as I have been. And hopefully this isn鈥檛 the last time we speak, but it鈥檚 time for us to turn the page and move on to something else.鈥
