NEW YORK (AP) 鈥 Yankees captain Aaron Judge returned to right field Friday for the first time since July 25, three days after he strained his flexor tendon while making a throw at Toronto.

Judge was batting third in Friday night鈥檚 series opener against the AL East-leading Blue Jays. The two-time AL MVP made a soft, short throw to second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr, on Nathan Lukes’ shallow two-out, based-loaded single in the first inning rather than try to throw home as the Blue Jays scored two runs and took a 3-0 lead.
