École Polytechnique shooting survivor and new MP Nathalie Provost may have portfolio related to her advocacy

From the Cabinet rolling file - Live Updates May 13, 2025 series

Nathalie Provost, who was a 23-year-old engineering student in 1989 when she survived the École Polytechnique mass shooting in Montreal, is another interesting choice. She has dedicated her career to advocating for gun control. The Quebec MP frequently pushed the previous Liberal government to be stronger on the issue. She may have a specific portfolio related to her advocacy, but she is also an engineer and has a master’s degree. This is her first time holding elected office.
