Next week, Prince William is set to give a rare 鈥 and based on the teaser, quite vulnerable 鈥 television interview. Even more unusual? It鈥檚 Canada鈥檚 very own Eugene Levy who鈥檚 got the royal exclusive.
On Friday, October 3 the Prince of Wales will be on the third season of Levy’s Apple TV+ travel show, “The Reluctant Traveler.”
The episode, titled 鈥淟iving the Royal Life In The UK,鈥 opens with the Canadian actor and comedian receiving an invitation to visit Windsor Castle. His host is none other than the heir to the British throne, who jokes 鈥淲e provide this service for everyone. We do personalized tours everywhere.鈥

Because this is Levy 鈥 and Prince William, for that matter, noted for his dry humour 鈥 the overall tone is larky and light. When asked about what he does in free time, for example, the 43-year-old jokingly says, 鈥淪leep. When you have three small children, sleep is an important part of my life.鈥
Things seem to get a bit more serious, however, when they鈥檙e chatting over pints at a pub later in the episode. It鈥檚 just the teaser, so we don鈥檛 have context for the question, but William does seem to open up to Levy about how he鈥檚 coped with the double-whammy of his father and wife being diagnosed with cancer within weeks of each other last year.
鈥淚鈥檇 say 2024 was the hardest year I鈥檝e ever had,鈥 he says in the trailer for the episode. 鈥淵ou know, life is sent to test us and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.鈥
It鈥檚 not entirely clear why Prince William is on this particular show at this particular time 鈥 it may make more sense when the full episode airs next week 鈥 but it鈥檚 not the first time the future king of England has worked with Apple. A few years ago, he recorded an episode of 鈥淭ime To Walk鈥 for Apple Fitness+, where he chatted about everything from the song he used to sing in the car with his mother, Diana, to how being a rescue helicopter pilot impacted his mental health, all while hiking around the Norfolk countryside.
