A man followed a woman in her 20s after she got off the bus and stabbed her in an “unprovoked attack” before running away, .Ìý

The woman was stabbed once, according to Peel paramedics, who transported her to a trauma centre. She suffered “near fatal injuries,” but is now stableÌýand recovering in hospital, police said Tuesday.Ìý
The man and woman did not know each other, police said, adding that they believe it was a random attack.Ìý
On Monday, police arrested a 30-year-old man from Brampton.
