Escaped cows moved off Highway 400 Friday evening after stalling long-weekend traffic in both directions

The “not too co-operative” cattle wandered onto the highway around 2 p.m. between Hwy. 9 and Aurora Rd.

Multiple cows on Hwy. 400, between Hwy. 9 and Aurora Road, caused “heavy delays” in both directions on Friday afternoon, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.


Drivers on Highway 400 near Aurora had to moo-ve over carefully on Friday. 

Seven cows escaped their enclosure just after 2 p.m. and wandered onto the highway, between Highway 9 and Aurora Road. The cows were causing “heavy delays” and a “huge impact on traffic” in both directions during a busy commute before the long weekend, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in multiple videos .
