Two types of jarred vegetables sold in Ontario are being recalled due to pieces of rubber in the food.Â
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency after Custan Foods Ltd. issued a recall for Hak brand Boerenkool and Spinazie.
Boerenkool is a traditional Dutch food, typically made from mashed potatoes, kale and occasionally smoked sausage. Spinazie is the Dutch word for spinach.Â

The affected Boerenkool was sold in 340-gram and 680-gram jars and can be identified by a universal product code of 8720600608605 or 8720600609824
The Spinazie was sold in 330-gram and 630-gram jars and can be identified by the universal product codes 8720600608940 or 8720600609817.
All lots of recalled products had codes ranging from LG262 up to and including LG292.
The recall only applies to food that was sold in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Anyone who purchased jars of the affected product should not eat, sell, serve or distribute it to others.Â
