Unlike last year鈥檚 somewhat yawn-worthy “garden of time” dress code and red carpet result (florals? for spring?), this year’s theme and 鈥淭ailored to You鈥� dress code required its attendees to dig deep, do their research and deliver some thoughtful looks. And deliver they did.

A slew of dapper gentlemen 鈥� most notably co-chairs Lewis Hamilton and Colman Domingo 鈥� showed out, but the menswear-leaning theme didn鈥檛 deter women like Zendaya, Zoe Salda帽a and Lupita Nyong鈥檕 from making their own impressions.

Here are the best dressed celebrities to grace the 2025 Met Gala red carpet.

Rihanna

One Met Gala MVP inspired headlines before she even arrived. Earlier in the evening, on the way to the gala, Rihanna was snapped outside the Carlyle Hotel with the most striking accessory of all: a baby bump signifying the impending arrival of her third child with her partner, Met Gala co-chair聽A$AP Rocky. Later 鈥� much later 鈥� she graced the red carpet in a Marc Jacobs look that incorporated a corset bodice hugging her belly, a cropped jacket and pinstriped bustle skirt.

Zendaya

One of the most anticipated celebs to hit, well, any red carpet, Zendaya slinked up the stairs in a three-piece cream Louis Vuitton suit, a more understated swing than last year鈥檚 Met Gala, where she wore three vintage Galliano gowns. Zendaya鈥檚 long-time stylist (nay, Image Architect) Law Roach shared that Bianca Jagger鈥檚 iconic wedding look from 1971 鈥� complete with wide-brimmed fedora 鈥� was the inspiration. Nailed it.

Zoe Salda帽a

With 鈥淭ailored to You鈥� as the dress code, we were expecting a decided gown dearth in favour of suiting. But Zoe Salda帽a somehow brought both elements together in this statement Thom Browne piece. With a nipped waist, a contrasting bow on at the neck and a reported 2.7 million silver beads sewn all over the garment, it proved her fashion prowess once again.

Colman Domingo

For most of the evening鈥檚 attendees, dandyism was a research project; for Met Gala co-chair Colman Domingo, this striking style of dress has long been a lifestyle. Stepping onto the carpet in a two-part custom Valentino look (with a bright blue cape reveal!), Domingo came 鈥渄elivering references鈥�: the 1940s zoot suit, the Moors crossing the ocean and Sunday best in the Black church.

Lewis Hamilton

Fresh off racing in yesterday鈥檚 Miami GP, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton took to his Met Gala co-chair duties in an ivory tailcoat and trousers from London-based designer Wales Bonner. Embellished with cowries, ancestral beads and freshwater pearls, the winning look denoted 鈥減urity and status,鈥� according to his stylist Eric J. McNeal.

鈥嬧赌妇辞别肠丑颈颈听

Consider Doechii鈥檚 fashion girl status cemented after wowing in this dapper Louis Vuitton look. The 鈥淎nxiety鈥� rapper worked with creative director Pharrell himself to craft the monogrammed tux jacket and trouser shorts, finished off with a mahogany silk tie and a cigar.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid did her homework this Met Gala 鈥� and it shows. The mega model鈥檚 perfectly draped, glittery gold Miu Miu halter dress was an homage to Zelda Wynn Valdes, a groundbreaking Black designer in the 1940s who dressed the likes of Eartha Kitt, Marlene Dietrich and Mae West.

Lupita Nyong鈥檕

More is always more for Lupita Nyong鈥檕, who took to the red carpet in a soft-meets-slick Lurex suit from Chanel鈥檚 FW2015 couture collection complete with an aquamarine chiffon cape that floated dramatically around her. The total look took the couturiers 400 hours to fashion and we can see why.

Anne Hathaway

A night dedicated to dandyism necessitated a nod or two to the late Vogue editor Andr茅 Leon Talley 鈥� and Anne Hathaway did just that. Her custom Carolina Herrera look was centred around the classic white shirt, a pared-back essential favoured by the long-time Vogue editor amongst his more flamboyant style inclinations. She said she hoped he was looking down and saying, 鈥淕lamourrrrrrr!鈥�

Tracee Ellis Ross

Statement silhouettes are a Tracee Ellis Ross calling card, so it was no surprise she leaned on the maestro of proportion Marc Jacobs to execute this inflated satin suit. Topped off by a Stephen Jones fedora, the out-there outfit played with tailoring in a totally different way.

Kendall Jenner

Showgirl-style feather collars, all-over sequins, totally see-through gowns 鈥� Kendall Jenner is usually something of a Met Gala peacock. But this year, the supermodel swung in a different direction. Along with stylist Gabrielle Karefa-Johnson, Jenner worked with emerging British designer Torish茅ju Dumi to fashion this impeccably constructed grey skirt suit, which is unexpectedly minimalist and pretty perfect.

Demi Moore

You would鈥檝e won big if you’d bet on Demi Moore to sport the evening鈥檚 most surrealist-inspired look. The typically more subdued actress opted for a Thom Browne gown fashioned to resemble a dandy-like pinstripe tie (look closer!) It was fashion as art executed in the most sophisticated way.

Alicia Keys聽

In one of the night鈥檚 most dramatic interpretations of the pinstripe, Alicia Keys tapped Moncler by Edward Enninful to create this off-the-shoulder suit with a contrasting, comforter-like shawl, complemented by her husband Swizz Beatz’ similar suit. It鈥檚 a familiar feel for the singer who鈥檚 been embracing both ends of the masculine and feminine sartorial continuum since she catapulted to stardom in the 2000s.聽

Sabrina Carpenter

Decked out in a pants-less Louis Vuitton Men鈥檚 look, the famously five-foot tall Sabrina Carpenter was all leg in a burgundy jacquard corset, cropped-then-tailed blazer and nothing else. Influenced by Jazz Age dandies, this pinstriped homage also felt self-referential as the pop star continues to embrace her Old Hollywood esthetic.
